About Alix Malka:
Alix Malka was born in the south of France. As a young opera singer, he was struck by the magic of visual arts which quickly turned into a passion for photography, fashion and cinema. He graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Aix en Provence and completed his training as a fashion designer at Esmod in Paris. He worked for many years as an artistic director alongside the iconic designer Thierry Mugler, creating all aspects of a haute couture house. He has been an integral part of the Mugler house, collaborating with many photographers, including masters such as Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon. These inspiring collaborations were instrumental in helping Alixʼs dream of becoming a photographer come true. He began his career as a fashion photographer, quickly becoming involved with countless prestigious fashion magazines and building an extensive celebrity roster over the years. His first major exhibition during Art Basel 2009, entitled "In Fashion Photo" was the beginning of a number of exhibitions in New York, Paris, London. Alix's images from the Jean Paul Gaultier campaign entitled "Mermaids" were exhibited in various museums in the United States as part of the exhibition "The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier, from the Sidewalk to the Catwalk". Her directorial debut began with ABCʼs Vogue USA Haute-Couture, which was a collaboration with Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley featuring Tom Ford, Madonna and Karl Lagerfeld. Alix splits her time between New York, Los Angeles and Paris.
