About Michel Rawicki:

Michel Rawicki is a French photographer, explorer and author of several books on nature. Rawicki's first interest in travel is the world of ice, a world of transformation and impermanence. From there, he got closer to the wildlife, the animals that inhabit it, and finally the people of this land. His images, characterized by an aesthetic and graphic approach, naturally take on an ethical and contemplative dimension, gradually modifying his gaze and his approach to this sensitive nature. From Antarctica, Greenland, Siberia to Alaska, Michel Rawicki has been traveling, crisscrossing and photographing the polar regions for more than 20 years, taking an interest in man, animals and nature, notably in snowy places. In a context of climatic upheaval, Rawicki has witnessed a changing world. He published a book called The Call of the Cold with a foreword by Hubert Reeves in 2016 after spending time with glaciologists, anthropologists and ethnologists to better understand the challenges of the polar region. A solo exhibition at the Grilles du Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris showed the breathtaking images from his book.
