About Richard Aujard: ( 1965- 2021)
Richard is a photographer and director.He At the age of 16, he became French inter-league motocross champion. Passionate about images, at the age of 19 he was an assistant for the Vogue studio. He subsequently decides to direct his objective towards new horizons. Richard leaves to settle in Australia. In Sydney, he met a gang of Bikers who, at the time, had hit the headlines following a shootout between gangs. He then began his work on Moto Clubs. The magazine "Photo" will publish a portfolio on this subject taken up throughout the world. His meeting with Mickey Rourke will be decisive. He invites him to come and live with him in Los Angeles and sponsors him for his work on bikers and boxing. At this same time, Richard met Éric Cantona. Richard becomes one of Eric and Mickey's official photographers. Then began a long artistic collaboration. From there, he set off to meet the Navajo, Hopi, Apache Indian tribes... Richard spent several months in total immersion in the Indian reserves of Wyoming, Dakota and Arizona. Then he went on to publish a book on the Charros in Mexico.In 2008, Richard became part of the NTM adventure thanks to Joey Starr who he has known for a long time. He immediately published the book “Supreme NTM: We’re still here!” (2009). As part of the France 2 show “Envoyé Spécial”, he went to Mongolia for 12 days in 2008 with the actor Samuel The Bihan. He produced a documentary, "Nomad's Land" which aims to raise awareness of the poverty of this country. A boxing enthusiast, Richard has published two books BOXING & CHAMPIONS, on the great champions who have marked the history of the Noble Art such as Mike Tyson , and Evander Holyfield, brothers Tiozzo and Jake LaMotta “The Raging Bull” but also the very young, these seeds of champions. Most of the photos were taken in Las Vegas, at Caesar’s Palace, the temple of boxing.
In parallel with all these reports, Richard regularly photographs artists such as: Jean-Paul Belmondo, Béatrice Dalle, Eric Cantona, Woody Allen, Monica Bellucci, Asia Argento, Carla Bruni, Mike Tyson, Mickey Rourke, Tom Hardy, JoeyStarr, Jason Statham, Kirk Douglas…
His photographs are regularly published in magazines such as Photo, Paris Match, Premiere, Studio CinéLive, SoFilm, Next-Libération … and are the subject of numerous exhibitions in international galleries and listed at Artcurial and Christie's.
