About Tony Frank:

Tony Frank was the official photographer of Johnny Hallyday for over 40 years, Serge Gainsbourg and Michel Polnareff. He is considered the photographer of the stars of the last 40 years, including Eddy Mitchell, Alain Bashung, Bob Dylan, Barbara and numerous singers, not forgetting of course the essential Anglo-Saxon groups like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Queen, .... He was responsible for the Michel Polnareff photograph that caused a scandal in 1972, in which Polnareff appears from behind, bare-assed, against a red background, and whose poster was pasted on every wall in Paris, as well as for the mythical photo on Serge Gainsbourg's album Melody Nelson.

In 1959, during the school vacations, I discovered photography, jazz and blues; photography and music became two passions. 1961 saw me listening to Rock: Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Tommy Steele, among others. I joined the staff of the legendary magazine "Salut les Copains" in 1964.In 1972, I left to create HIT-Magazine. Since then, I've worked freelance, and have been lucky enough to photograph such stars as Woody Allen, Louis Armstrong, Charles Aznavour, Nathalie Baye, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jane Birkin, James Brown, Ray Charles, Cher, Dalida, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Bob Dylan, Marianne Faithfull, Claude François, Jean-Luc Godard, Mick Jagger, Queen, Tom Jones, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, The Who, Sylvie Vartan, Frank Zappa...
